Mr. Mathew was a fantastic physician for the full length of my treatment, he was extremely patient and listened to my exact issues- tailoring to assist me as much as he possibly could. I felt he was determined throughout to help me and felt there was a personal level of service provided which left me feeling confident with the treatment standards in play. After completing the exploratory treatment, I had another appointment to see Mr,Mathew to discuss his findings. His advice on my treatment considering my personal circumstances fitted well into my plans, and he has made me feel supported in my decisions regarding my future treatment. I appreciate his professionalism and his personal level of service, a credit to his industry Sincerely, Mr Paul Hamilton

I saw mr Philip Mathew for a dupertryene contracture on my left hand ,I had already had one operated on my right hand over 15 year ago so I knew what to expect on my first visit to King George's while waiting to see him it was a very relaxed wait with nurses that smiled like you was in there shop that felt good for me , mr Mathews pointed out my options , I went for day visit and op , on the day of the op again every body was so helpful ,mr Mathews was an early visiter when I was in the ward he made me feel like I was in safe hands made me feel like I was a vip , he asked me if I had any conserns which I didant , on the trip to operating theatre I was looked after so well and the checks to make sure your the right person and checking what hand makes you feel safe ,next thing I'm waking up all done , I would recommend this doctor to anybody ,I was recommended to take pain killers for a while but I must say I didant take any the pain was just a dull acke , when the stiches came out I massaged vitamin e oil which mr Mathews showed me to do hence I hardly have scar I am a nhs patient but I felt like a privet one , Eddie.

Having been under the care of Mr Mathew for almost 2 years I can honestly say that his care towards his patients is always the priority, and he will always find the time to listen to the patient and their needs. Discussion for surgery is always conducted in a open professional manner, but in an honest and positive way, plus also he will respect your opinion at the same time. I have had various discussions on surgery alternatives, and will always ask Mr Mathews honest opinion, which I will always get. He is very informative, and will advise you of the options and risks (if any) that are available. Having just had surgery again, which was quite lengthy in time, I knew whatever the outcome Mr Mathew would do whatever was needed to relieve the pain I have been going through. For this round of surgery I just had to trust Mr Mathew, and whatever decisions he made in theatre. Post surgery I was advised of the procedure which he had done. Yet again he went above the duty of care and was still in the hospital advising me of my surgery at 10.30pm !. I can honestly recommend Mr Mathew as a consultant, he has a driving force in orthopeadics, and is constantly searching for new ideas to help people. An absolute first class surgeon and gentleman who will certainly give you confidence in the NHS.

Mr Mathew was extremely charming and helpful. He explained my options and was happy to accede to my wishes. The treatment was most successful. He discharged me with the knowledge that I can, should it be required, return to him for any further treatment in the future. I thank him.

Mr Philip Mathew explained what the operation entailed in a language that I could understand, he was very polite in his manner and the operation went well
